2019 – Little Vitamin
Fempowered is a brand that has been developped by WaterAid. It is a subscription box service with eco-friendly period products with all profits going to help women and girls around the world. Their mission is to give them the resources, care and know-how to deal with their periods safely and with dignity. They’ve approached the agency to help them rebuild their subscription service and website, and I was the UX/UI designer working on the project.
⏤ 00 THE BRIEF
Fempowered already had a website that was built on Shopify, so we had to redesign and build on top of their existing theme. The project was divided into several steps: first of all, we had to rethink the landing page to make the message of the cause clearer and more central in the user journey. Then, we had to restructure and redesign the subscription flow, including the cart page, to resolve several technical issues, as well as adding one-off products to the subscription ones. We also redesigned the collection and product pages.
⏤ 01 THE LANDING PAGE
We uplifted the landing page by including elements from their brand, to evolve it as a mechanism into the page. We’ve added their iconography as well as the dots as a background, moving to some section to give it more movement. It was also important to be very clear about their mission, what they do and the benefits of their products but also explain how they work in simple steps. Their partnership with WaterAid and the testimonials give even more credits to Fempowered, building trust among the prospects.
⏤ 02 THE SUBSCRIPTION FLOW
For subscriptions, we used the ReCharge integration which is one of Little Vitamin’s partner, the agency I was working in at the time. We had to rethink the flow and work with them to include a gifting option as well as adding one off products to the subscription.
⏤ 03 THE CART PAGE
The cart page had to be custom to include line items, so the customer would be able to see the summary of the products they have previously selected in their subscription box.
⏤ 04 THE COLLECTION & PRODUCT PAGES
Both the collection and the product page were designed upon the theme with minor customization to meet the team’s requirements, and to match Fempowered’s brand.
