OVERVIEW
This project was about designing a responsive website for a touristic campaign. I strongly felt like promoting a place related to the ocean, as I love scuba diving and am very sensitive to water pollution. I wanted to combine both to create something meaningful. I chose Galápagos, because it’s the most preserved marine ecosystem in the world and I’ve always dreamt of going admire its unique marine wildlife.
⏤ 01 THE PROBLEM
A threatened paradise
Galápagos Islands is the most preserved place on earth, but its beauty, wildlife and conservation are threatened by many factors such as tourism, pollution, climate change, and overfishing. So the question is: how can we prevent this from happening?
⏤ 02 THE PURPOSE
Awareness & Action
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the beauty of the archipelago and inform people on the actions to take to enjoy their experience mindfully. Its purpose is to get travelers to protect the marine ecosystem, to keep it intact, while enjoying their time mindfully. It is also about getting people emotionally involved with the place and creating genuine interest, forcing them to take action to protect it.
⏤ 03 THE SOLUTION
An immersive experience
Discover | Enjoy | Protect ⎯⎯the three sections that will help in achieving our goals. It was important to make it easy to understand the problems facing these islands, the amazing things they have to offer and how to easily act with respect. Through an immersive visual experience, we can trigger an honest concern in people’s mind, making them want to see and protect everything around the place.
