how I work-
how I work-
purpose
Understanding the mission/purpose of the client, whoever it may be, is the key point to develop a concept that will be coherent. If I don’t perceive it, it will be very hard for me to structure my thoughts and choose a direction.
research
I really have to soak myself into the context of the project I’m working on, and it means doing researches on different aspects evolving around it, which also gives me an overview of what’s already out there.
inspiration
Gathering inspiration might be the biggest phase for me. It’s where I’m going to be shaping ideas in my head and start visualizing the product. I draw it from everything around me on a daily basis, although Pinterest, Awwwards, Behance and Dribble are amongst my better allies.
ideation
I can then start creating new ideas and putting everything together. For this phase, I like to write everything that goes through my mind, to further structure and sort everything out. This way, I can see the evolution, ensuring that I stay on track, and end up with a clear idea.
design
I think of the actual design throughout the whole process, but once I know which features have to go in the product and how to visually translate what I need, I can start building my interfaces. This is where my ideas will come to life, always trying to express it in the simplest way possible.
iteration
Of course, iteration is mandatory to ensure a better final experience for users. Sharing my work with others allows new vues and opinions, in order to be able to realize if something is wrong. If it doesn’t feel as intuitive as I thought it would be, I can make changes and iterate to improve the layouts.
